Do you ever feel like a fraud? Do you worry that you will be “exposed” at any moment? Have trouble accepting praise? You may be suffering from Imposter Syndrome.

According to Psychology Today, people who struggle with imposter syndrome have an underlying belief that they are undeserving of their achievements. They feel that they aren’t as competent or intelligent or creative as others might think—and that soon enough, people will discover the truth. It It often disproportionately affects high-achievers, who find it difficult to accept their accomplishments.

Originally referred to as “Imposter Phenomenon” the concept was first brought to public attention by Psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes in a 1978 Study, which focused on high-achieving women. They say “Despite outstanding academic and professional accomplishments, women who experience the imposter phenomenon persist in believing that they are really not bright and have fooled anyone who thinks otherwise.” 

If you experience this feeling of being an imposter - You are not alone. Turns out 70% of us experience impostor syndrome at some point in our lives. 

You may have found yourself asking yourself the same questions over and over.

Who am I to start a blog, youtube channel, or podcast? Who am I to write a book, become a coach, or create an online course? Who am I to be a CEO or a Founder or an Influencer? Who am I to charge for my work? Who will listen? Who will watch? Who will care? What will people think of me?

The truth is you have a mission and a message to share with the world. With the news and media bombarding us with negativity, why wouldn’t we as artists and creatives and visionaries and entrepreneurs want to be bombarding the world with our gifts, our passions, our creativity?

Marianne Williamson says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?”

This year I blew up my life, left The City of Angels where I had lived for 15 years, sold or gave away all my possessions except what I could fit in my car and my beagle Lily and I HIT THE ROAD.

I spent months in Florida, North Carolina, and now Tennesee. Travelled to Tulum multiple times. Spoke at conferences in New Orleans, Nashville and Costa Rica. Stayed at Air Bnbs and hotels in great cities like Palm Springs, Austin, Dallas, Savannah, and Asheville.

3 Quick Lessons Learned on the Road:

1. Love yourself enough to take your health, wealth, & ultimate destiny into your own hands. Never leave it up to others to determine your worth, your value, or your ability to accomplish your desires.

2. With a laptop, ring light, portable mic, and WiFi you can work remotely from anywhere in the world. You can create impact, influence, and income for yourself, your clients, and the people who you aim to help and serve.

3. If you stand in your power and move forward in confidence, the universe will conspire to meet you to support you.

The #DigitalNomad#EntrepreneurLife has been crazy, sexy, challenging, and rewarding. On the latest episode of The #FoodHealsPodcast, I share how I have navigated this journey, lost everything (more than once 😱) and continued to persevere, rebuild and pivot when necessary.
